Before Bailey McQueeny-Rose attended law school at the University of Oregon, she worked in reproductive health care, first as a medical assistant and then as a trainer, teaching others to do the same job. The work opened her eyes to how access to health care differed based on the laws in the six states where she oversaw training, and she began to consider becoming a civil rights lawyer.
New research reveals that properly prepared potatoes can offer significant health benefits, including cardiovascular improvements, for people with Type 2 diabetes, challenging their negative dietary reputation. Nevada’s questionable reputation for health care has taken another big hit. A report in July by the Commonwealth Fund, a healthcare advocacy center, laid out the specifics for Nevadan women. And it’s not good.
Known for testing for minimum competency and failing to do its job, bar exam reform advocates have spent years pushing for a meaningful alternative. The perfect solution would be if all law schools did a good enough job of teaching students how to be lawyers that they were work-ready by the time they cross the stage, alas, no such luck.
