UNLV is committed to providing financial resources to support graduate student success and timely degree completion. The Graduate College provides thousands of scholarships and fellowships each year to support the graduate student community.

1,000+ graduate assistantships

Graduate assistants gain valuable research, scholarly, teaching, and professional experience working in classrooms, offices, and laboratories at the university. GAs earn a competitive stipend, reduced tuition, health insurance coverage, and an out-of-state fee waiver. The Graduate College employs and supports more than 1,000 graduate assistants every year.

Nevada residency benefits

In addition to a low cost of living, Las Vegas residents pay no state income tax and can take advantage of locals discounts to many of the city’s entertainment options. UNLV students who are Nevada residents pay in-state tuition.

The Grad Academy: free leadership, professional, and career development

The Grad Academy at the Graduate College offers innovative leadership, professional, and career development opportunities, including co-curricular certifications, yearlong professional development and research programs, boot camps, workshops, events, and more to help undergraduates prepare for graduate school success and to support graduate students’ preparation to be competitive in their postgraduate career pathways. 

The Gateway and Lied Graduate Student Commons 

We’re proud to offer the Gateway Graduate Commons and the Lied Graduate Commons as exclusive computer labs and study spaces for graduate and professional students. The Commons feature free access to meeting areas, kitchens, whiteboards, computers, a large-scale printer, and more. 

Grad Rebel Gateway

The Grad Rebel Gateway is the engagement portal graduate students use to apply for scholarships and fellowships, professional development opportunities, and other graduate programs at UNLV. 

Student lifecycle communications

The UNLV Graduate College distributes personalized messages and information to graduate students when they need it based on their individual graduate career, ensuring students know what they need to know when they need to know it.  

Campus Resources for Graduate Students

Graduate & Professional Student Association

The Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) is the student government for UNLV’s graduate and professional student body. The GPSA holds monthly meetings, hosts social events throughout the year, offers funding for conference and research activity, and more. 

Student organizations

In addition to the Black Graduate Student Association and the Latinx Graduate Student Association, there are more than to appeal to a wide range of interests for students wanting to get involved. 

UNLV Libraries

At more than 325,000 square feet, offers group study rooms, nearly 600 computers, more than 1.2 million bound volumes, nearly 80,000 journals and serials, and more than 1.3 million e-books. 

Student Recreation and Wellness Center

The 184,000-square-foot Student Recreation and Wellness Center includes a health center, pharmacy, dental clinic, relaxation room, counseling services, personal training, state-of-the-art gym, and more. 

Student Health Center

The Student Health Center provides treatment for injuries/illnesses, immunizations, a lab, and a pharmacy.

Dental Clinic

The dental clinic inside UNLV’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center provides oral health care to students, staff, faculty, their families, and the public. Available services include X-rays, cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, dentures, and root canals. 

Student Counseling and Psychological Services

Clinicians are trained to help students work through problems commonly experienced by college students of all ages and backgrounds. Students who self-identify in crisis can be seen the same day at Student Counseling and Psychological Services.

The PRACTICE

A mental health training clinic, the PRACTICE provides affordable, evidence-based mental health care to its clients and the highest quality training to its students.

The Care Center

The Care Center provides free and confidential support services to members of the UNLV community who have been impacted by sexual assault, relationship abuse, family violence, and/or stalking. The Center also offers a confidential, 24-hour hotline connecting students with trained peer advocates.

Conflict resolution support

The Office of Student Conduct can help students resolve conflicts through peer mediation. This is a voluntary, self-empowering process in which an impartial or neutral third party helps participants discuss, negotiate, and reach a mutually acceptable settlement to their disagreement. 

Food pantry

The UNLV Cares Food Pantry is open year-round to provide groceries for UNLV students and employees who are experiencing economic hardship. The use of the pantry is completely anonymous. 

UNLV Writing Center

Consultants at the UNLV Writing Center work with students on any writing task through in-person meetings or an online lab. 

English Language Center

The English Language Center supports non-native speakers of English with reading, writing, listening, speaking, and vocabulary courses to ensure their success at UNLV.

Disability Resource Center

The Disability Resource Center is committed to supporting students with disabilities through the appropriate use of advocacy, accommodations, and supportive services to ensure access to campus courses, services, and activities. 

Housing and residential life

UNLV is proud to offer multiple options for living on campus that maximize your college experience. Live with students of similar interests, be close to campus resources, and learn in a safe and supportive environment.

UNLV/CSUN Preschool

The UNLV/CSUN Preschool provides a model inclusive early childhood program that serves children (six weeks to five years of age) of students, faculty, staff, and the general public; trains future educators; and promotes research studies on issues and practices relevant to child development and early learning.

The Office of Student Diversity Programs

The Office of Student Diversity Programs advocates with a diverse student population to amplify and affirm students’ identities through an intersectional framework to promote student success. SDSJ is a student-centered office committed to educating, empowering, and developing UNLV students as leaders to recognize and address societal injustices. 

The Intersection

The Intersection: Academic Multicultural Resource Center is a safe, healthy, physical space for students, faculty, and staff to gather, exchange ideas and information, and develop a shared sense of community at UNLV. The Intersection is a comprehensive and sustainable resource center for students -- particularly first-generation and students of color -- faculty, staff, and the community at large.

Military and Veteran Services Center

The Military and Veteran Services Center provides responsive academic, social, and administrative support to student veterans as well as active duty military members.

UNLV Career Services

Career Services provides resources for resume building, interview preparation, and a wide variety of job and internship opportunities to get students started on their path to career success.

Troesh Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Troesh Center manages the entrepreneurship curriculum across the university, is a hub for entrepreneurship research, supports entrepreneurial activities in southern Nevada, and offers guidance to internal and external stakeholders on obtaining angel capital.
