Aspiring Student Leaders Access Free Training
NEW Leadership Nevada is our flagship educational outreach program. Our June six-day summer institute brings together 25 college students from across the state to learn about leadership and civic participation from accomplished women leaders. NEW Leadership Nevada is open to undergraduate and graduate students attending a college or university in Nevada. Students attend at absolutely no personal costs. We raise the funding to cover all travel, lodging, and meal expenses. Nevada residents attending schools in other states are also encouraged to apply.

A key component of our research mission involves engaging in and researching educational programs. We are dedicated to teaching and mentoring women. We also work to develop the skills and talents of the next generation of researchers. We have a number of initiatives that focus on pedagogy, as well as training future researchers and leaders.

The Gender Research Roundtable Series
WRIN hosts a number of Gender Research Roundtable (GRR) events each year, where members of the gender research community come together to listen to presentations and discuss drafts of projects during the early and middle stages of development. GEMS that Shine
We are collaborating with UNLV’s School of Medicine, members of our Community Advisory Board, and local experts to craft these workshops. Our hope is to create a full academic year of Educational Enrichment workshops to supplement the Middle School’s 2022-2023 academic year. This will also provide an opportunity for our NEW Leadership Alumnae to engage and mentor these students while teaching them the importance of civic engagement. We are proud that the reach of NEW Leadership continues to grow!
Student Internships & Research Fellows
We are dedicated to training the next generation of scholars through internships and research fellowships at WRIN. We are pleased to work with other units and programs to offer internships for credit for students who are interested in learning about the research process. In addition, we frequently offer project-based internships and research positions. Meet our 2021-2022 interns.
