Accomplishments: School of Nursing

Nirmala Lekhak (Nursing) co-authored a newly published research article called "Differences among Caregivers on Coping Resources and Mental Health." The article can be found in the journal Issues in Mental Health Nursing.
Angela Amar (Nursing) recently wrote a guest editorial for the Journal of Forensic Nursing. The article is "Antiracist Vision for Forensic Nursing."
Nirmala Lekhak (Nursing) co-authored a manuscript, "Caregivers of Persons with Diverse Health Conditions: Demographics and Burden of Care," that recently was published.
Paul Thomas Clements (Nursing) published a new chapter in the book Concepts for Nursing Practice (3rd edition). The chapter is about interpersonal violence in the category of maladaptive behavior.      
Andrew Thomas Reyes, Rhigel "Jay" Tan (both Nursing), and Chad L. Cross (Public Health) co-authored, “Resilience, Trauma, and Cultural Norms Regarding Disclosure of Mental Health Problems among Foreign-Born and US-Born Filipino American Women,” which is published in the August issue of the Behavioral Medicine.
Susan McLennon (Nursing) co-authored an article titled "Missing the Mark: The Complexity of African American Dementia Family Caregiving" in the Journal of Family Nursing.
Paul Thomas Clements (Nursing) was named as part of a group of 15 new fellows inducted into the National League for Nursing Academy of Nursing Education for 2020.
Andrew Thomas Reyes (Nursing) published an article, “A Mindfulness Mobile App for Traumatized COVID-19 Healthcare Workers and Recovered Patients: A Response to “The Use of Digital Applications and COVID-19,” in the Community Mental Health Journal.
Alona Angosta and Jinyoung Kim (both Nursing) have been selected to the American Academy of Nursing 2020 Class of Fellows. Inductees were chosen for their contributions to health and health care based on a highly competitive application process and is a significant milestone for nurse leaders everywhere.    
Kelly Ann Garthe (Nursing) successfully defended her dissertation titled "Rejection Sensitivity and the Intent to Seek Medical Help Among Gender Minority Individuals."  She officially earned her doctorate status.  
June Cho (Nursing) and Lung-Chang Chien (Environmental and Occupational Health) published an article, “Associations Between Hormonal Biomarkers and Preterm Infant Health and Development During the First 2 Years After Birth," on Biological Research for Nursing.
Dieu-My T. Tran and Angela Sojobi (both Nursing) co-authored a new publication "Review of the Scientific Literature on Young Adults Related to Cardiovascular Disease Intervention." Sojobi is a graduate student.
