The Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» is an open campus that allows students, faculty and staff, and members of the greater Las Vegas community to access the campus at any time. This can be very different for many students from other countries, especially those from countries where colleges and universities are gated.

RebelSAFE App
ISSS strongly recommends that all students download and install the RebelSafe App. This app can help you request a late night security escort on campus, provide updates regarding security events around campus or severe weather, in addition to many other services. Students can find more information about the app and where to download it on the Safety and Emergency website.
General Safety Tips
- Get to know the campus safety office. Use the red emergency phone stations on campus if you feel unsafe and need somebody to escort you.
- Take precautions after dark. Do not walk by yourself. Use the buddy system. Always pay attention to people and the environment around you. Do not look at your phone when walking. Park in a well-lit area.
- Keep things on lockdown. If you live on the first floor, close and lock your windows. Keep your blinds and curtains closed at night. Secure your electronics when feasible and keep your valuables in a safe place. Protect your passwords and PINs.
- Be smart on social media. Don’t geotag your photos. Don’t announce when you are home alone or when you are going on vacation. Don’t stay logged in on social media accounts as that leaves you vulnerable to hackers..
- Be careful getting into your car. Have your keys ready before you reach your vehicle. Don’t leave valuables in your car.
- Have a plan. Know where you need to go beforehand and don't be distracted by your phone.
- Protect yourself from danger. Don't ignore something that gives you reason to be suspicious. If something makes you uncomfortable, ask for help.
