Bruce Caprara

  Bruce Caprara, '82 BS Hotel Administration, is the managing partner of Seminole Reef Grill, a new fresh seafood and sushi restaurant that opened in January in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. It is described as the ultimate seafood experience where Key West casual meets Palm Beach elegance. In addition to Seminole Reef Grill, Caprara is the co-founder of Waxins, a Swedish/American fine dining establishment in Palm Beach Gardens. His hobbies include playing golf and traveling to Italy, France, and Fiji. The father of one son, he lives in Palm Beach Gardens.  

Jennifer Hostetler

Jennifer K. Hostetler, '04 BA Criminal Justice, '10 JD, has been promoted to partner at Lewis Roca.  She is a member of the firm's litigation practice group and focuses her practice in the areas of employment and business litigation. She represents clients in state and federal court against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract, and violation of wage and hour laws. Hostetler has practiced before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, representing employers against claims filed by employees under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

Peggy Dursthoff, '89 MS Physical Education, is a Realtor with HomeSmart Colorado. Her hobbies include road cycling, skiing, snow shoeing, and kayaking. She lives in Highlands Ranch.

Kathy Ewoldt

  Kathy Ewoldt, ’11 Master of Education, ’19 Ph.D. Special Education, became an assistant professor of special education at University of Texas, San Antonio, after completing her doctoral studies at UNLV. This year, she received the Council for Learning Disabilities 2021 Outstanding Researcher Award for her 2018 dissertation, "Reverse Engineering an Expository Paragraph for Students with Mild to Moderate Disabilities and English Learners." To promote and recognize research, the Council for Learning Disabilities annually presents this award for an outstanding manuscript-length paper on learning disabilities based on a doctoral dissertation completed within the last five years.  

Deanne Moyle-Hicks

  Deanne Moyle-Hicks, ’93 BS Education, was named 2022 Nevada Teacher of the Year by Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and State Superintendent of Instruction Jhone Ebert. She is currently a fourth-grade teacher from Natchez Elementary School, located on the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation, after having taught every K-6 grade level, serving as a literacy coach and coaching high school volleyball. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts and served as a 2020-21 Teach Plus Nevada Senior Policy Fellow.

Lori Tierney Shehane, ’93 BS Nursing, has been happily practicing nursing for 41years. She lives in Monmouth, Oregon.

Zhuo Wang

Zhuo Wang, '04 MS Hotel Administration, is a director of finance at Expedia Group. He is the recipient of multiple company awards since starting in 2009 as a senior analyst of business intelligence. He welcomed his twin children in 2018. The family lives in Seattle, and this summer has been filled with discovering a different local playground or park each week.

Pj Perez

Pj Perez, '07 BA Journalism and Media Studies, recently completed his first feature-length film, the documentary Parkway of Broken Dreams, premiering Oct. 13 in Las Vegas, and coming to streaming platforms later this year and public television stations in spring 2022. He and his spouse Sara Gorgon, ’16 MBA, recently purchased a home in Anaheim, Calif., with a view of the nightly Disneyland fireworks.
