The Webex App is the newly supported softphone for campus. Softphones allow employees to make and receive calls with their UNLV phone number using an application installed on a computer or mobile phone. The Webex App can be used on Windows, Mac, and Linux desktops, as well as Android and iPhone devices. Webex App highlights include:

Softphone Features
- Phone - Use the Webex App on your mobile device or computer to place, receive and forward calls using your UNLV extension.
- Voicemail - Listen to, delete, and forward voicemail messages left in your UNLV extension’s mailbox.
- Chat - Instant message with other Webex App users, individually or in a group.
- Contacts - Create and manage custom contact lists to organize your communications for users you contact regularly.
- Presence - Set your status so that other users can see if you are available before calling.
Eligibility
The Webex App is available for all UNLV staff or faculty that use a university phone.
Charges
There is a one-time charge of $57.50 per new user that covers the cost of configuring profiles for each user. There are no recurring charges. There is no additional charge for current Jabber users to transition to Webex App for calling.
Getting Started
Users who have previously been configured for softphone service can download, install, and sign-in to start making and receiving calls with the Webex app.
Users that have not been previously configured for softphone service must submit a service request to start the configuration process.
Log in to the using your ACE ID and fill out the request form with the following information:

Please note that if you already have the Webex Meeting App installed, it must be uninstalled before proceeding.
Install the via the Play Store, App Store, or open the downloaded installer.
Unlike previous UNLV softphone apps, the Webex App can be installed on Windows PCs even if you don’t have administrative privileges.
- Open the Webex App.
- Select the “Sign-in” button.
- Enter your UNLVMail email address and select the “Next” button.
- This must be your “@unlv.edu” address.
- Complete the normal UNLV sign-in procedure.

If you experience an issue with the Webex App, you can troubleshoot issues using the steps listed below. Contact UNLV Telecommunications or submit a new for additional assistance.
- Sign out and then sign back into the Webex App.
- To sign out select your and click “sign out”

- Reset the application by opening the and clicking the reset link on the bottom left.
- Please note that this will delete all customizations.
- You will be prompted to sign in after the reset is complete.
