This program offers support to students who are former foster youth. We aim to connect students to on and off-campus resources. The list will continue to grow as the Fostering Scholars Program grows. For any of the below links, please remember that the UNLV Fostering Scholars program is here to assist students with a history of foster care with any of these programs or with information about any of these programs. Financial Aid specific to students who have experienced foster care

  • - available for all states for young people who aged out of foster care (every state has different criteria)

  • (Clark County Social Services - Step Up) available to young people who were in foster care at age 16+ in Clark County
  • UNLV Fostering Scholars operates a Basic Needs Pantry year-round to support students in meeting their basic needs. Additionally, UNLV Fostering Scholars has emergency financial support available for students in meeting rent obligations, and utilities. Please contact fosteringscholars@unlv.edu for information.
  • Fostering Scholars has limited support for textbooks. Please for textbook support.
