220 - Open Lab
Definition: A laboratory used primarily for individual or group instruction that is informally scheduled, unscheduled, or open.
Description: Open Labs are discipline or group specific. This includes department specialty spaces such as art studios, music practice rooms, simulation labs, graduate student study spaces, and instrumental core laboratories for STEM disciplines.
Utilization: Available and utilized by students at a minimum during regular business hours during the academic year. It is recommended that the number of students using the space is monitored regularly and reviewed on an annual basis.
225 - Open Lab Service
Definition: A space that directly serves one or more open laboratories as an extension of the activities in those spaces.
Utilization: Lab-related materials, equipment, etc that are organized in a tidy manner. It is recommended that the contents are reviewed annually.
410 - Study
Definition: A room or area used by individuals to study at their convenience, the space not being restricted to a particular subject or discipline by contained equipment.
Utilization: Available and utilized by students at a minimum during regular business hours during the academic year. It is recommended that the number of students using the space is monitored regularly and reviewed on an annual basis.
