250 - Research Laboratory
Definition: A space used for laboratory experimentation, research, or training in research methods; professional research and observation; or structured creative activity within a specific program or for sponsored research (whether sponsored with federal, state, private, or institutional funds).
Utilization: Available for research faculty, tenure-track faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students engaged in research.
Facilities managed by the Vice President for Research (ie, SEB and MSM) have space allocated based on metrics and are prioritized by the VPRED space committee.

255 - Research Laboratory Service
Definition: A space that directly serves one or more research/nonclass laboratories as an extension of the activities in those spaces.
Utilization: Available for storing and organizing research infrastructure including gases, instrumentation, and storage hoods for specialty materials including volatiles organics, acids, and oxidants/reductants.
