ProctorU Online Proctoring Services – Student Information

Taking tests can be stressful, especially high-stakes proctored exams. If your instructor informs you that they require online proctoring for high-stakes exam(s), you can follow this checklist to help you reduce your stress and focus on doing well on the exam.

At the start of the semester:

Requirements

  • Identification. You are required to provide photo identification to the proctor.
  • Equipment. You must have access to a webcam, microphone, and reliable computer with internet connection that meet . You must also be able to allow the proctor to have remote access to your computer and screen.
  • Private Location. You will need a private location, such as your home or workplace, to take your exam. Cafés or other public locations are not allowed.

Don't wait until the last minute!

  • Make an appointment for your proctored exam at least three days prior to the date of the assessment to avoid being charged a late fee.
  • Check the technical requirements and test your equipment well in advance of your appointment for the exam, so that you have plenty of time to resolve any issues that may arise.

Fees, Cancellations, and Refunds

  • Students are charged based on the time scheduled for the exam and regardless of the actual time the student takes to complete the exam.
  • Reservations made within 72 hours (three days) of an exam are subject to a late fee.
  • If you need to cancel your appointment, we recommend notifying ProctorU at least 24 hours in advance. More than 24 hours notice is preferred. If you fail to show up for your exam without notice, you will not be eligible for a refund.
