Yes, some courses are transferable and must be reviewed by the Health Sciences Advising Center. The advisors will then work with the student on a Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) to make sure the credits get recorded properly in the system.

Can students from other Nursing programs transfer to UNLV?

Yes, but this must be approved by the pre-nursing advisor. A letter of good standing is required from the student’s previous nursing program.

How long is the undergraduate Nursing program to complete?

A Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing takes 16 months once you have been admitted to the Traditional BSN Track. This is a year-round program with three semesters each year, including a full-time summer program.

Students interested in the baccalaureate program apply to UNLV through the Office of Admissions and signify on the university application form “School of Nursing, Pre-Nursing Major.” The student is required to make an appointment with an advisor in the Division of Health Sciences Advisement Center to discuss required course work, GPA, and sequencing.

Can I send the School of Nursing my transcripts for evaluation?

No. The Office of Admissions must evaluate all transcripts. The Nursing School does not pre- evaluate transcripts.

No, the School of Nursing does not offer this program.

Beginning in Fall 2013, students admitted to UNLV must take the SAT or ACT. You also can take an ACT Residual Exam or Math 095 and ENG 098, which are pre-requisite classes for Math 124 and ENG101. Students are admitted into Pre-Nursing at any semester without a waiting list. Students are admitted from Pre-Nursing into the 16-Month Traditional Nursing Track three times per year (spring, summer, and fall) when they meet eligibility requirements.
