Utah’s largest healthcare provider, Intermountain Healthcare, has shown interest in partnering on a stand-alone children’s hospital project in Southern Nevada. That’s according to a new study conducted by Tripp Umbach for UNLV’s Lincy Institute, which looked at the need for a full-service independent children’s hospital.

Clark County School District officials have kept mum in the wake of the Clark County District Attorney’s Office’s Wednesday letter to Trustee Katie Williams asking her to voluntarily vacate her seat after finding she is no longer a resident of Nevada. The letter asked Williams to confirm no later than Monday her intention to voluntarily vacate her seat. If not, the office said it is prepared to commence legal proceedings to declare her seat vacant.

This year, Rutgers University reinstated the nurse-midwifery master’s training it had eliminated in 2016. The University of Alabama-Birmingham also restarted its master’s in nurse-midwifery program in 2022 after a 25-year hiatus. In addition, George Washington University in Washington, DC, Loyola University in New Orleans, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas added master’s training in nurse-midwifery.
