A Children's Day celebration took place at City Hall on Sunday. City Council and North Las Vegas Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown hosted several children in partnership with the UNLV Nevada Institute for Children's Research and Policy.

With 13 of the 14 early voting days accounted for, about 74% of all early votes are mail-in ballots in this year’s primary. This continues the trend from 2022’s early voting primary, where mail and EASE ballots accounted for 71.55% of early voting.

On June 17, 2021, Juneteenth became a federal holiday in America. But in many pockets of the country it has been celebrated since long before then. Juneteenth, a portmanteau for June and nineteenth, began on that date in Galveston, Texas in 1865 when General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3.

Despite the significant revenue from events like the Super Bowl and Formula 1 Grand Prix, locals believe their needs are being overlooked in favor of catering to non-locals.
