After a yearlong wait, vaccines for COVID-19 finally are available, and most Americans’ biggest concern right now is getting vaccinated as quickly as they can.

Starting any job amid a pandemic can be daunting, but imagine if the position involved leading a new medical school.

In just five years, UNLV has earned full medical school accreditation.

More Nevadans are becoming eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, and among the newly-added groups are grocery store employees.

“We are writing to share good news. At its February 2021 meeting, the LCME (Liaison Committee on Medical Education) voted to grant full accreditation to the medical education program of the ��ҳ| �鶹��ýӳ�� School of Medicine.”

As many report concerns over COVID-19 vaccination side effects, 8 News Now spoke to a medical expert to break down what everyone can expect.

Following five years of partial accreditation, the UNLV School of Medicine announced Friday that it had been fully accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which oversees the accreditation process for medical schools in both the U.S. and Canada.

The UNLV School of Medicine is officially an accredited institution. This means it is meeting or exceeding national standards.
