The Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV opens its 11th season Sept. 20 with Sean Clark’s “Dog Explosion” in the Black Box Theatre.

It will feature the UNLV Alumni Jazz Band, UNLV Jazz Ensemble I, and special guest Dennis Mackrel.

Part of UNLV music department's Chamber Music Series, the concert features faculty and guest musicians.

New series will screen award-winning, indie feature films every two weeks at the Galaxy Luxury+ Theaters.

"A New Sculpturalism: Contemporary Architecture from Southern California" runs through Sept. 16.

Four distinct series comprise the season: the acclaimed Charles Vanda Master Series, the Allegro Guitar Series at UNLV, the UNLV Performing Arts Center Series, and the UNLV Chamber Music Series, co-produced with the UNLV Department of Music.

Four-year term runs through June 30, 2017.

Season covers Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs” to Bertold Brecht’s “Good Person of Szechuan,” from new comedies to longtime favorites such as “A Christmas Carol” and “Grease.”

The award-winning documentary, HERB & DOROTHY, by filmmaker Megumi Sasaki, will play in the Barrick to accompany the exhibit.
