Emma Frances Bloomfield (Communication Studies) and Sheila Bock (Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies) co-authored the lead chapter in the edited volume, Wait Five Minutes: Weatherlore in the Twenty-First Century (). Combining rhetorical analysis with folklore studies, their chapter, "Divergent Weatherlore in Christian Hermeneutics: Climate Change and Vernacular Rhetoric in Our Current Environmental Crisis," explores how both climate skeptics and climate advocates leverage the weather as evidence for their views on climate change.
