Biography

Emma Frances Bloomfield (Ph.D., University of Southern California) is a rhetorician interested in scientific controversies, environmental communication, and the interactions of identity, ideologies, and storytelling. Her primary area of study is climate change communication and the obstacles to and opportunities for environmental conversations. She is the founder and co-director of Greenspun College's Public Communication Initiative, which conducts original research and hosts workshops on communication strategies. She teaches classes on rhetoric and persuasion and is an advocate of inclusive pedagogy. Details on recent publications and ongoing research projects are available on her personal website.
