UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble
The UNLV World Music Chamber Ensemble is a vibrant performance group that seamlessly blends Western and non-Western instruments, pushing the boundaries of experimental music with original compositions crafted specifically for the ensemble. This co-creative group embodies multiculturalism, diversity, and collaboration, exploring the rich fusion of music, dance, kung fu, and art from both Eastern and Western traditions. By celebrating diverse cultural practices, the ensemble highlights the power of coexistence and showcases the beauty of global artistic heritage.
The ensemble is dedicated to intentional intersections of different traditions, emphasizing expressivity and inclusion. This multidisciplinary experience not only underscores the richness of world cultures but also invites audiences to appreciate the depth and diversity of global art forms.
We welcome musicians specializing in world instruments, those proficient in Western instruments (such as cello, double bass, and flute) with an interest in world music, as well as composers eager to create original works and arrange music for the ensemble.
