Requirements
Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (). Applicants must apply through only. No faxed or mailed applications will be accepted.
Completed applications include:

- Applicants should score at least 200 on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 and 2 or at least 450 on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) Level 1 and 2. Applicants who have more than one attempt on any USMLE Steps 1 or 2CK are unlikely to be considered.
- Applicants needing J1 visa sponsorship are accepted.
- For preliminary applicants, our National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) number is 2028140P0

- Personal statement
- 3 or 4 letters of recommendation (1 from program director)

Applicants with U.S Post Graduate Experience
Before accepting a resident from a preliminary year or categorical residency from another accredited training program (either from within the school of medicine system or from an outside institution), a written verification of previous educational experience and an evaluation of past performance must be secured from the resident's current and/or previous program director(s). Such evaluation must include a milestone-based evaluation of the individual's performance in each of the requisite six core competencies.

Match Day!
Interview Day
Applicants will be contacted via email by the program coordinators if granted an interview.
The entire interview season will be virtual. Applicants selected for an interview will receive direct communication about the interviewing process and virtual interviewing platform we use, which is Zoom. Please make sure to have the application installed and tested prior to your interview day.
Interviews will have both asynchronous (recorded) and synchronous (live virtual) components to be completed within the applicant’s selected interview day. We will have morning sessions (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST) and afternoon sessions (1 p.m. to 4 p.m. PST) for you to select from.
Interviews will be standardized and conducted by the program director and faculty members. Opportunities to speak with current residents will be included in the schedule. If you would like additional time to speak with our residents and learn more about our program, please contact im.residency@medicine.unlv.edu.
All selected applicants will be subject to the same interview format and review.
