The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV offers non-rural residents the choice of an HMO plan through Health Plan of Nevada (HPN) and a PPO plan through Sierra Health & Life (SHL). Dental Insurance
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine offers dental coverage to eligible employees through Guardian Life. You may see any licensed dentist you wish but will have the highest level of coverage when you use an in-network provider. The dental plan offers a wide network of national providers and provides coverage for routine preventive visits, basic, major and orthodontic services. Dental insurance is 100% company paid for the employee only and available via affordable payroll deductions for your eligible dependents. Following are your benefits when you receive care from an In-Network provider.

Vision Insurance
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine also provides you with the option to enroll in a vision plan through EyeMed Vision Care. The vision plan includes benefits for eye exams, glasses and contacts, as well as discounts for various lens enhancements. Vision insurance is 100% company paid for the employee only and available via affordable payroll contributions for your eligible dependents. Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
The school of medicine provides all eligible employees with a company paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) benefit through Guardian Life for the amount of $20,000. Additional coverage will need to be paid by the employee.
Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance
Since every employee has different needs when it comes to life insurance, the school of medicine provides you with the opportunity to purchase additional life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance through Guardian Life. This plan is 100% employee paid via payroll deduction.

- $150K guaranteed issue for newly eligible employees only

Long-Term Disability Insurance
Eligible employees are covered with company paid long-term disability (LTD) through Guardian Life. LTD income protection insurance provides a benefit for long-term disabilities resulting from a covered injury or sickness. The LTD plan may pay 66 2/3% of your eligible pre-disability earnings to a maximum of $2,000 per month. Benefits begin at the end of a 90-day elimination period and continue while you are disabled up to the maximum benefit duration.

The Benefit Resource Center (BRC) is designed to provide you with a responsive, consistent, hands-on approach to benefit inquiries. Benefit specialists are available to research and solve elevated claims, unresolved eligibility problems, and any other benefit issues with which you might need assistance. The benefit specialists are experienced professionals and their primary responsibility is to assist you.

Your Mobile Benefits App
The MyBenefits2GO mobile app provides access to the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine insurance policy details, human resources’ contact information and more.
