What does the Mail Center do with improperly addressed mail?
Improperly addressed mail will be looked up and every effort will be made to determine a delivery destination. If a delivery point cannot be determined, it will be returned to the sender. If a return address is not available, the mail leader will open the envelope and determine if and where it should be delivered. If a delivery point cannot be determined, it will be disposed of in accordance with United States Postal Service and Department procedures.

When does the Mail Center receive incoming mail?
The Mail Center receives incoming U.S. mail every morning at 7:00 am and processes within 24 hours.
May I mail an envelope with a binder clip on the contents?
Mail that contains binder clips, paper clips, heavy staples and other foreign objects will slow down delivery and could be rip or torn and most likely will incur additional charges from the USPS that will be charged to your department. To avoid these situations, it is highly recommended that you eliminate these objects from your mail pieces. If it is absolutely necessary to include these objects in a mail piece, please bundle the pieces together and mark for special handling.
Where is my package?
First make sure that the package has been delivered to the University address by the carrier. Then give the Mail Center a call at 702-895-3786 or ext 53786 and we will do our best to locate it. You must provide a tracking number for us to better locate any package.
May I use a white envelope for on-campus (intra-campus) mail?
Use only manila colored envelopes when sending mail to campus mail stops. White envelopes go off-campus; manila envelopes stay on-campus (except clasp). This approach expedites sorting and speeds your mail on its way to the intended recipient. Mixing white business-size envelopes (#10) directed to on-campus addresses with your other out-going mail could result in the on-campus envelopes being metered with postage. Those postage fees will be charged to your department’s budget.

Can I have my mail forwarded to another address?
No, because the University has a unique zip code, the USPS is unable to forward our mail. Please provide your new address to contacts who send you mail. Please also give your new address to the department you are leaving and have them forward any remaining mail they receive for you.

200 pieces or 50 lbs of mail is the minimum for a Bulk Mailing.
How do I use Mail Instruction Cards?
Mail Instruction cards are required for all outgoing mail to ensure accountability. 
Ho do I prepare my outgoing mail for pickup?
Domestic Mail and International Mail must all be bundled separately. Place a Mail Instruction Card on Domestic and International Mail if needed.
Will my mail be processed on the same day it is picked up?
All outgoing mail is processed and taken to the main Post Office on the same day it is picked up from your regularly scheduled routes. Any mail brought to our facility must arrive before 12:00 PM for guaranteed same day processing.

No problem! Just give us a call at 53786 and let us know what you have for pickup and where it is located.
What are the Mail Center hours?
We are open for business from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are closed for business on weekends and all University observed holidays.
Why does my incoming mail sometimes have trouble finding me?
When giving your university address to persons or organizations that will be sending you mail, be sure to have them include your campus mail stop in the address.
