Please support the Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship. Established in 2022 to honor Dr. Lang’s contributions to the advancement of urban and suburban public policy, the fellowship is awarded annually to an outstanding UNLV Ph.D. student completing a dissertation in metropolitan public policy broadly defined. Special consideration is given to applicants with dissertation topics focused on the Las Vegas metropolitan region and public policy in the Mountain West.

Dr. Robert E. Lang, who passed in June 2021, was the founding executive director of The Lincy Institute and Brookings Mountain West, the inaugural Lincy Endowed Chair in Urban Affairs, professor emeritus for the School of Public Policy & Leadership at UNLV, and Resident Senior Fellow in the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program. Dr. Lang served UNLV, Southern Nevada, and the State of Nevada with distinction and dedication.

Funded by generous gifts to the UNLV Foundation, the Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship recognizes Dr. Lang’s immeasurable contributions and ensures that his legacy lives through the teaching and research of future UNLV public policy scholars.
