Hospitality Advising
From orientation to graduation, the Hospitality College’s award-winning advising team is here to help you.
Our advisors are the student support system. They help students navigate their academic careers and maximize their time at UNLV by providing guidance on degree requirements and class schedules.
We Are Here to Help
Advisors at the Hospitality Advising Center help chart out a student’s academic path by reviewing degree requirements and mapping out a plan of action to meet them. Peer mentors are another great resource for first-year students adjusting to college life.
“Our goal is to empower students to take charge of their educational career through a collaborative mentoring relationship between advisor, faculty, and student. We also provide ongoing academic counseling to assist students in reaching their personal and academic goals.”
Jill Weigel, Associate Director of Undergraduate Advising
“The Peer Mentor program is important because it allows new students to transition into college life with the guidance of fellow peers. Mentors are an outlet to ask questions and seek advice in a way that feels genuine, and students can learn from someone who was recently in their shoes.”
Kaila Seidler, Hospitality Student & Peer Mentor
"Making the transition to college is an exciting time full of both questions and opportunities. Learning to manage your time, knowing what resources are available to you, and navigating responsibilities with peers and friends can be some of the biggest key factors in being a successful student.”
