The Division of Diversity Initiatives is pleased to announce the establishment of four new scholarships in the fields of Nursing, Teaching, Cinema, and for First Generation students. The UNLV Office of Diversity Initiatives is committed to providing equal opportunities and access to higher education for all. The student body at UNLV is consistently recognized as one of the most diverse in the nation, encompassing a wide range of genders, races, religions, socioeconomic backgrounds, and geographic locations. The availability of these scholarships may vary from year to year depending on continued funding.
The Lillemor Lawrence Nursing Scholarship
- Must be a full-time nursing student at UNLV in the last year of pursuing an RN degree.
- The scholarship amount is $7,500 annually.
Richard Hotson and Stephen L Teller Cinema and TV Scholarship
- Must be a full-timeUNLV student seeking careers in TV and movie production support roles in Southern Nevada, excluding acting.
- The scholarship amount is $5,000 annually.
The Sherman and Frances L. Teller Teaching Credential Scholarship
- Must be a full-time UNLV student finishing the final steps to prepare for teaching K-12 grades in the Clark County (public) School System.
- The scholarship amount is $5,000 annually.
Aristocrat Gaming First Generation Scholarship
- Scholarship awards will be based on financial need, with a maximum amount of $5,000 per year.
- Student(s) of any major.
- Student(s) must demonstrate a financial need for financial assistance.
- Student(s) must be enrolled as a full–time undergraduate student.
- Student(s) must be a first–generation student.
- Student(s) must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
- Student(s) must complete a one–page biographical essay.
