The Nevada Regents' Awards for Creative Activities are presented annually to two permanent full-time NSHE faculty members with distinguished records in creative activity. One award will be selected from nominations from UNLV, UNR, and NSU. One award will be selected from nominations from CSN, GBC, TMCC, and WNC. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $5,000 stipend. Candidates must have at least five years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination.
The Nevada Regents’ Researcher Awards are presented annually to permanent full-time NSHE faculty members at UNLV, UNR, NSU, or DRI with a distinguished record in research. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $5,000 stipend.
- Two awards will be given annually: one to a faculty member in recognition of a distinguished career in research and one to a faculty member in recognition of mid-career accomplishments in research.
Distinguished Career Researcher candidates must have 10 years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination and have overall career/service of at least 20 years in research.
Mid-Career Researcher candidates must have five years of cumulative service in NSHE at the time of the nomination and must have career/service of at least five years but less than 20 years in research.
- A third award shall be given annually to a faculty member in recognition of achievement in research in humanities and social science fields.
Humanities and Social Science Researcher candidates must have at least five years of cumulative service in NSHE by the date of nomination and must have career/service of at least five years in research.
The Jason Geddes Rising Researcher Awards are presented annually to up to three NSHE permanent assistant professors at each UNLV, UNR, NSU, and DRI. Awards are based on early-career accomplishments and potential for future advancement and recognition in research. Recipients must be nominated for this honor, which carries a $2,000 stipend.
