DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy):

Monday
5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

  • Our DBT-informed groups are structured, skills-based groups that rotate through one full cycle of the 4 modules every 16-20 weeks.
  • DBT is an evidence-based treatment that aims to help people be more effective in building “a life worth living” by learning skills that help them better cope with painful emotions, communicate more effectively, and live a more rewarding life.
  • The DBT group covers 4 skills modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help decrease feelings of emptiness, impulsive behaviors, up-and-down extreme emotions, and loneliness.
  • Group members often remain with the group for multiple cycles to solidify skills..

ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy):

Tuesday
12:00 - 1:30 pm

  • Our ACT-informed group is a semi-structured, skills-based group.
  • ACT is an evidence-based treatment that teaches strategies to decrease the impact of anxiety, depression, and other painful thoughts and feelings, and increase ability to identify and live a rich life congruent with personal values.
  • ACT is informed by practical mindfulness-based principles and covers skills to help get unstuck and make progress towards meaningful goals.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy):

Wednesday
5:30 – 7:00 p.m.

  • Our CBT-informed group is a semi-structured, skills-based group with a curriculum that varies according to the needs of group members.
  • CBT is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on the interaction of thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
  • Group members learn skills to identify unhelpful thoughts, modify beliefs, relate better to others, and change behaviors. These skills can be helpful for a wide variety of concerns, including depression and anxiety/social anxiety.

Interpersonal Process:

Thursday
2:30 – 4:00 p.m.

  • The Interpersonal Process group is an unstructured group for people wanting to work on relational issues that lead to psychological symptoms and/or dissatisfaction in relationships.
  • People who join this group may relate to a variety of interpersonal themes, including: having a hard time trusting others, struggling to form meaningful relationships, having difficulties communicating thoughts, feelings, and needs directly, feeling that relationships are shallow, experiencing anxiety in social situations, frequently experiencing loneliness, and/or exploring one’s identity or life changes inside and outside of the context of important relationships.
  • The group opens to new members at the beginning of each semester (early September, early January, or late May/early June).

Parent Training in Behavioral Management Skills Group

Friday
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. via Zoom.

This 10-week group is for caregivers of children ages 6 to 11 years of age who exhibit challenging behaviors and general non-compliance. Caregivers will learn evidence - based parenting strategies to decrease undesired behaviors and increase desired behaviors. This group is appropriate for caregivers of children struggling with ADHD, anxiety, oppositionality, disruptive behaviors, and/or non-compliance.

  • Caregivers will learn to increase desired behaviors and decrease undesired behaviors.
  • Caregivers will learn how to implement positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Caregivers will learn how to effectively implement consequences for misbehavior.
  • Caregivers will learn to increase consistency and follow through with parenting strategies.

Real Talk Teen Group 

Mondays at 5pm.
  • A group focused on empowering teens (ages 15+) to share their experiences while helping them learn, develop, and practice healthy coping skills to manage common issues and challenges.
