Programs

  • Native American Welcome Event
    • In collaboration with the American Indian Alliance, Native American Student Association, and Native American Alumni Club, the Native American Welcome Event extends a warm annual embrace to incoming Native students and their families at UNLV. This gathering not only introduces attendees to the wealth of resources available but also fosters a sense of community by connecting them with Native faculty, staff, and students.
  • Native American Heritage Month Main Event
    • An annual celebration dedicated to affirming and empowering our Native student community, the Native American Heritage Month Main Event tackles varied themes each year. Past events have featured esteemed guest speakers like Gregg Deal and Tanaya Winder, bringing unique perspectives and insights.
  • Indigenous Socials
    • Monthly Indigenous Socials create a dedicated space for Native students to forge connections and share experiences. These gatherings serve as a platform for students to connect with peers, discover campus resources, explore organizations, and, in some instances, develop or learn new skills. Led by the Native American Program Assistants, these socials foster a sense of community and support.
  • #NativeVoiceMattersSeries
    • The #NativeVoiceMattersSeries intertwines revitalization and awareness, initially emerging as a one-time passive program called #NativeTongue, which delved into language revitalization. The series expanded to include #NativePride, inviting individuals to express the significance of the hashtag through photos and captions. While not an event in itself, this impactful marketing campaign resonates with a powerful message – amplifying the voices of Indigenous nations, fostering cultural revitalization, and nurturing passion. Look forward to the continued evolution of this campaign in the future.
