Biography
Wanda Gispert is the Vice President of Talent & Workforce Development for MGM Resorts International providing overall organizational insight, analysis, and strategic workforce development to effectively support the business needs of Las Vegas, eight regional resorts, and MGM Japan. Since joining MGM in 2016, she successfully opened MGM Springfield, a beautiful 950 million dollar investment in New England and the first integrated casino resort in Massachusetts. Wanda led the workforce development efforts for 3,000 jobs and surpassed the goals outlined by MGM Resort and the city for the hiring commitments of local residents and Veterans. Prior to opening MGM Springfield, Wanda opened MGM National Harbor, a 1.4 billion dollar resort located near Washington DC, that exceeded its workforce development goals to the community by hiring 48% of its 4,000 employees from Prince George’s, the local county where the resort resides.
Wanda has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and has opened multiple properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean markets for Hilton and Marriott brands. She specializes in challenging labor markets to find workforce solutions by building viable pipelines through organizations that work with individuals with differing abilities, veterans, higher education, non-profit, and government agencies. Her tactics are creative, innovative, and results-driven.
Wanda currently serves on Virginia Tech’s Hospitality and Tourism Management Advisory Board and is appointed by the Governor of Maryland to the Workforce Development Board.
