Biography
Tom Warrington is one of the elite bass players in jazz today. He has performed and recorded with many great artists, including Buddy Rich, Freddie Hubbard, Hank Jones, Mose Allison, Randy Brecker, Toots Theilemans, Conte Candoli, Billy Childs, Arturo Sandoval, Clay Jenkins, Terry Trotter, Joe La Barbera, Karrin Allyson, and many others.
Warrington maintains an active schedule of recording, concerts, and clinics. He has performed as bassist on more than 100 recordings, and his Tom Warrington Trio recordings with guitarist Larry Koonse and drummer Joe La Barbera (JazzCompass Records) have received international critical acclaim. This group regularly tours in New Zealand and the USA.
Warrington continues to play and record with some of the very best jazz players, and his articulate communication methods have made him a popular clinician as well. He has published a variety of educational materials, including "Essential Styles I & II," a video series "The Contemporary Rhythm Section," the play-along series "MasterTracks," and beginning bass method "Crawl Before You Walk." Warrington holds a master's degree in composition from University of Illinois and is a professor at Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».
