Biography

Ted Weisman holds the following degrees: a B.A. in Legal Studies and Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz, an M.A.T. in Elementary Education from Sierra Nevada College, and an M.Ed. in Advanced Teaching & Leadership from Sierra Nevada College. In 2022, he earned his Ph.D. in Teacher Education here at UNLV. Prior to joining UNLV, Ted worked for 11 years in the K-12 education setting, where he was a classroom teacher, learning strategist, and administrator. In his current role, Ted strives to promote a positive and engaging learning environment that helps ensure the mutual success of faculty, staff, and students.

In the Fall of 2021, Ted completed a 40-hour Mediator Essentials training as part of UNLV’s mediator program through the Ombuds office. His mediation philosophy is that everyone should have a voice and be able to express themselves in a safe and open environment. Mediation is an excellent avenue for parties to explore when they have come to an impasse or are at a crossroads. Mediation is about dialogue and communication. By engaging in the process, potential resolutions to conflict may emerge. Ted’s goal is help individuals explore the many options that mediation can uncover. He is looking forward to serving the UNLV community.
