Biography
Rachel S. Torres is an assistant professor of Political Science at the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³». She received her doctoral degree from the University of Iowa (2021) and her bachelor's degree from University of North Texas (2016). She is a former McNair Scholar and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Dissertation Fellow.
Her research is related to the political beliefs and behaviors of both foreign- and native born Latinx populations, specifically regarding the impact of variation in immigration enforcement. Rachel's research has appeared in journals such as Business and Politics and the Journal of Borderlands Studies. She currently serves on the editorial board of the journal of State Politics & Policy Quarterly.
