Biography

Nancy Esposito has nearly 15 years of experience in higher education in various student affairs areas including academic advising, first-year experience, peer mentoring, and student life and leadership. In her current role, she develops and leads initiatives related to graduate student success, specifically in the areas of student engagement, advising, retention, and graduation rates. Since 2021, Nancy has served as an instructor within the Department of Counselor Education, School Psychology, and Human Services at UNLV and whose course subjects include multicultural issues in counseling, interpersonal counseling skills, and an introduction to the fields of human services and counseling.

As a first-generation college graduate, Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton, a master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in student development in higher education from California State University, Long Beach and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Public Policy at UNLV.

Nancy’s research centers around policy issues related to the affordability of higher education in Nevada. She believes financial stressors to be one of the most significant barriers to student retention and degree completion, especially for historically underrepresented students. She is passionate and dedicated to serving students and mentoring new professionals pursuing counseling professions.
