Melissa Argueta
Hygienist
Biography
Melissa Argueta joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine in 2015 and helps with the service learning courses as well as course content for the health promotion and public health courses for the first- and second-year dental students. Melissa also assists with the coordination of community outreach opportunities for third-year dental students, and is actively involved with preventive services at community-based clinics and Early Head Start/Head Start Centers throughout the state. Melissa is a member of the American Dental Hygienist Association, Nevada Dental Hygienist Association, American Dental Education Association, and the Nevada Public Health Association. She received the Dental Care International 2019 International Dental Volunteer grant, and the 2021 Mars Wrigley Foundation’s Healthier Smiles Grant. Melissa earned her associate's degree and her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene with an emphasis in Public Health from the College of Southern Nevada’s Dental Hygiene Program.
