Mateo Portelli
Biography
Originally born in Toronto, Canada, Mateo Portelli has lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2005. After graduating from high school in 2020, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, becoming a soldier in June of 2021 and graduating from the U.S. Army Signal Enlisted Development College to serve as an information technology specialist in the Nevada Army National Guard. Mateo is also a member of the Southern Nevada Honor Guard Team and is a resilience training assistant.
Mateo is currently a first-generation student at UNLV studying history. He has been active on campus in undergraduate student government as a former Senator, former associate director of legislative affairs, and as a member of the UNLV Student Technology Advisory Committee. He also is the former political director of the Clark County Republican Party. Mateo was recognized by the Republican National Committee in April 2022 as a "Rising Star" and recently managed the largest Hispanic voter engagement program in the history of the Nevada Republican Party.
Mateo is also the host of “Leadership Lindo,” which airs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The show features conversation-driven interviews with persons in positions of organizational leadership, managerial responsibility, and cultural significance. By providing insight into the experiences of leaders within Clark County, Nevada, and the United States, listeners can become professionals in the principles and practices of leadership, organizational management, and community development.
