Biography

Maria Jerinic is an associate professor in residence in the Honors College at UNLV. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Stony Brook University, an M.A. in English from Boston College and B.A. from Wellesley College.  She offers classes in writing, 18th and 19th century literature, pedagogy, and creative nonfiction. Her scholarship and creative nonfiction has appeared in a variety of print and digital publications.  She is a contributor and co-editor for Finding Light in Unexpected Places (Palamedes Publishing, 2019) and is now at work with her co-editor on a follow-up volume.

She has taught for the Honors College since 2005 and is a recipient of the Len Zane Honors College Teaching Award (2018) and the UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award (2019).
