Biography
Laurene DeBord-Foulk, MFA, is in her 10th year of teaching screenwriting and film courses for UNLV Film, and her fifteenth year of teaching at the university level. She was named UNLV College of Fine Arts Part-Time Instructor of the Year in 2012.
She is the author of numerous screenplays, television scripts, plays and short stories, and was hired to adapt the award-winning novel, Hawk, by William Wallis, into a television series. Her first novel is currently in the editing process and she has multiple songs currently being demo’d. Her songwriting endeavors include the Las Vegas October One tribute, “Forever Vegas Strong."
She received a B.S. in writing from Drury University, an MFA in screenwriting from UNLV, and has done graduate work in literature, economics, and business at the University of Arkansas and UNLV. In addition to teaching UNLV courses and mentoring and advising students, she has worked extensively in real estate and business management in Las Vegas, snapped photos of vintage hotrods as a SEMA photographer, covered the World Series of Poker as a journalist and calculated the molarity of your favorite fast food pickles as a pickle chemist.
