Biography
Dr. Keoni Kins was born and raised in rural Eastern Montana. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout after finishing high school. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance - Athletic Training in 2004 from the University of Montana, Missoula, and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2010 from the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».
Dr. Kins has been a certified athletic trainer since 2004 with both recreational and professional athletes. Since 2010, Dr. Kins has practiced as a licensed physical therapist in the orthopedic outpatient setting in both Las Vegas and Henderson. Dr. Kins enjoys serving on the physical therapy department's admissions & recruitment committee as well as the scholarships committee. Dr. Kins teaches within the clinical education and orthopedic track for the UNLV Department of Physical Therapy.

Research Interests
Student perceptions of clinical education experiences in rural and underserved settings. Perceived and actual barriers to physical therapy clinical practice in rural Nevada. Identifying and exploring trends in characteristics of professional DPT program applicants. Student, patient, and facility perceptions regarding the value and feasibility of DPT student-led, pro-bono, and service learning activities that serve uninsured and underinsured people in Southern Nevada.
