Biography
Juanita Hinojosa (she/her/ella) is pursuing her Ph.D. in Higher Education at the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» (UNLV). Juanita proudly identifies as a first-generation college graduate and immigrant scholar. Juanita's lived experiences inform her work and research, and she is passionate about researching and developing inclusive practices and policies that advocate for and support students in higher education, particularly those from historically underrepresented communities. Her dissertation focuses on the experiences of Latinx/a/os in rural higher education. Juanita obtained a B.A. in Communication Studies and an M.Ed. in Student Development Administration from Seattle University. Most recently, she completed the Chief Diversity Officer in Higher Education (CDOHE) graduate certificate at UNLV.
