Biography

Joanna Jezierska is the Director of the Multicultural Program for STEM and Health Sciences. As part of the Faculty Excellence Initiative, Joanna coordinates programming to enhance the pedagogical practices of faculty. She has worked in the NSHE system for over 13 years, working both at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) and at the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ (UNLV). Her academic interests include pedagogy, higher education policies, comparative and international education systems, developmental theories, and psychology.

After completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from UNLV in 2009, Joanna worked as an advising and retention specialist, Disability Specialist, and a director of Tutorial Services at CSN. In January 2013 she accepted the position of director of the Multicultural Program at UNLV.

In her native city of Warsaw, Poland, she earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business and Foreign Languages and a Masters in Pedagogy from the Pedagogical University Jane Kochanowski in Kielce, Poland.

In her private life, she loves sailing, hiking and spending time with family and friends. She is also an avid reader and animal advocate.
