Biography

Jiemin Bao is professor of anthropology at the Ê×Ò³| Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­. She received her doctoral degree from the University of California at Berkeley. Her first book, Marital Acts: Gender, Sexuality, and Identity among the Chinese Thai Diaspora, was published by the University of Hawaii Press in 2005. In 2008, Bao co-edited a special issue of Ethnology on polygyny (Volume 47, No. 3). Her second book, Creating a Buddhist Community: A Thai Temple in Silicon Valley, was published by Temple University Press in 2015.
