Janis Riceberg, M.Ed. ’89
Biography
Janis Riceberg received a M.Ed. from UNLV in 1989, holds an M.A. in administration and supervision which she received in 1999, is a certified braillist, was a high school resource teacher for blind and visually impaired students in CCSD, and a special education resource English teacher. She was principal of the Achievement Academy, a private non-profit school for autism and learning challenges. Janis taught at Touro University and was an adjunct instructor for the College of Southern Nevada from 2003-2016 teaching for the Department of Education. Currently, Janis is on the board of directors for New Horizons Academy. She is the author of four journal articles on technology and disabilities and a motivational speaker for schools and conferences. She was proud to receive the Professional Excellence Award for Outstanding Faculty Achievement from the College of Southern Nevada. She was named Clark County Mother of the Year for Community Service. Her greatest achievement is her family.
