Biography
James Wright joined UNLV in April of 2016. He is currently a grants analyst in the Office of Sponsored Programs. As a 20-year Air Force veteran, Wright has spent the past few years “Caring for America’s Heroes” and their families from the Accounting offices of the Nevada State Veterans Home in Boulder City. He previously worked as an Auditor and a Management Analyst with the State and Clark County. Wright graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Technical Studies from Bellevue University in Nebraska. His duties as an Account Technician are to assist with the management of accounts. This includes establishing or inactivating accounts in the financial system. Inputting information in the financial system required for the processing of journal vouchers and budget adjustments; coordination of accounts receivable collections, including the creation and distribution of notices, updating internal files with payment status information and preparing deposit transmittals. Other duties may include database updates related to sub-recipient monitoring process, preparing invoice and financial reports, providing support and assistance on various audits, participating in F&A cost proposal preparations, and creating/updating various internal files. Wright also manages the federally required Certificate of Effort Reports, which includes the distribution and follow-up of these reports.
