Biography

Helen Duerr received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA and her Master of Science in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, from CSULB. She is currently licensed as a marriage and family therapist in both California and Nevada. She has over 20 years of experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, couples, and families in various settings ranging from non-profit community mental health programs to private practice. She believes strongly in supporting the community and has provided critical incident support at times of need. She currently specializes in treating individuals with anxiety-based disorders, such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, using Exposure Response Prevention. She has managed close to 100 ERP trained, licensed clinicians. She takes great joy in helping students and other clinicians attain their goals. She has worked as an instructor in various academic settings including primary school, private learning organizations, and formerly co-founded/co-directed an academic enrichment program teaching incarcerated youth.
