Biography

Erik Kubiak, MD, professor of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Orthopaedics and Optum and Dr. Tony and Renee Marlon Endowed Chair, was a member of a research team that was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Defense with a peer-reviewed Orthopaedic Technology Development Award for a new fracture healing monitoring system.

Dr. Kubiak attended the University of Washington School of Medicine and did his residency training at the Hospital For Joint Diseases in New York City. He completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Dr. Kubiak, who has extensive experience in orthopaedic trauma and as an adult reconstruction surgeon, has acted as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on numerous clinical and research studies.

With broad experience in several complex surgical methods, he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in the area of orthopaedic injury and rehabilitation.

Dr. Kubiak has been invited to lecture internationally, including presentations in Germany, England and South Korea.
