Biography

Eric Knight has been with UNLV for 15 years. In his current role he is responsible for the day-to-day management of the interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building and the Harry Reid Center, including personnel management and internal operations. Knight brings a wide range of expertise to the research support needs of UNLV, assisting research faculty and staff with equipment design and integration, providing training for high-tech building infrastructure, and overseeing new equipment installations. Additionally, he provides environmental monitoring of critical systems and equipment and handles space and project management. Since 1998 he has also supported and developed UNLV’s high-tech research infrastructure as operations manager for the Nevada Desert Research Center (including the internationally recognized Desert Free-Air CO2 Enrichment Facility) and the Desert Research Institute’s Weighing Lysimeter Facility. Knight holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from UNLV. In 2013 he received UNLV’s Administrative Faculty Member of the Year Award.  He is also a member of the Science & Engineering Building Steering Committee, Chemical Safety Advisory Committee, and the Accelerator Safety Committee at UNLV.
