Elizabeth “Hope” Hinchman, MSN, RN

Biography
Elizabeth “Hope” Hinchman has been part of the UNLV School of Nursing team since 2019. Through hands-on work in the classroom, lab, and clinical settings, Hope not only cultivates, implements, and evaluates new teaching strategies, but also fosters relationships between students and clinical agency staff as well.
Expertise
Hope has nine years of experience as a pediatric nurse and continues that work in addition to her time here at UNLV. Most of her teaching experience has been with Level I learners.
Classes Taught
Hope has taught in the traditional BSN program, ABSN program, and DEMSN programs. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Nursing, Fundamental Nursing Skills, and Physical Assessment Lab. She has also taught the clinical portion of Pediatrics.
Education Background
Hope is a UNLV alumna, having earned her BA in Psychology in 2008, a BSN in 2015, and an MSN-NE in 2019.
Awards, Recognitions, and Group Affiliations
Hope received the 2022 Outstanding Teaching by Part-Time Faculty Award from the greater university, was recognized as a Spring 2021 Bright Light, received the SON’s Outstanding Part-Time Instructor Award in 2022 and 2023, was awarded the Tony and Renee Marlon Nursing Fellowship, and was granted a scholarship from the SNA to present at the Baccalaureate Education Conference in Florida. She was elected and currently serves as the Sigma Theta Tau International VP, acts as an MSN-NE mentor, and is the SNA Faculty Advisor.
