Denise Cook

Biography
Cook is a survey statistician with the U.S. Census Bureau in Washington, DC. In her current role, she facilitated the development of over 142, 2020 Decennial Census reports. In addition to certificates in nonprofit management, public management, teaching, and research; she is a statistician by training and received a B.A. from California State University, Sacramento earning the distinction of Summa Cum Laude as well as her M.A. and Ph.D. from UNLV all in sociology. Her dissertation was an examination of the intersections of volunteerism, work, and leisure utilizing the current population survey administered by the U.S. Census Bureau and examined via a multidisciplinary lens and research from economics, human resources (public administration), psychology, and sociology. Cook has a passion for volunteerism and has served on several nonprofit advisory and community boards.
