Biography

April is currently a grant specialist at the UNLV Office of Research and Sponsored Programs - College Of Education. She is also a doctoral student in educational psychology, having previously graduated from UNLV with a M.S. in educational psychology, in which she explored the experience of self-coherence during her thesis.

Academic interests include self-coherence and related concepts such as meaning, identity, support mechanisms, construction of knowledge, self-narrative, sense of self, creativity, emotions, body-mind-emotional interplay, belief, motivation, and compensatory behavior.

An avid fan of zines, April explores the use of zines as an unique vehicle of self-expression. She is the creator of Zazazine and is investigating the use of zines in educational settings.

April is a published author of two books, one technical, in analytics Social Media Analytics Strategy and one fiction-fantasy: Goblins! of the Neverending Lands - Book 1: Unlikely Heroes, which is available at the UNLV TRDL Library.
