Biography
Amaris graduated in 2006 from Fordham University (NY) with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology. Her passion for understanding cultural and social factors that affect mental health led her to pursue further education in public health at UNLV. She graduated with an M.Ed. in health promotion from UNLV in 2012 and is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at UNLV for public health. At the Nevada Institute for Children's Research & Policy at UNLV, she is working on a variety of projects to help improve children's health and safety. Amaris has also taught an undergraduate course for the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in the School of Public Health and plans to continue her academic career by sharing her knowledge and research of public mental health in the classroom and through professional publications.
